Frequently Asked Questions

What age can my child start Judo?
Our USA Judo program is open to children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. We welcome complete beginners — no experience necessary! All children start at white belt and progress at their own pace.
How often are classes held?
Classes are held 4 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. You can enroll for a monthly membership covering all 4 days, or drop in for individual sessions at $25 per class.
What does my child need to bring?
A judo uniform (gi) is required. We sell uniforms with your child's embroidered name for $63. Belts are $18 with embroidered name. All mats and equipment are provided at our facility.
Is the USA Judo membership required?
The USA Judo membership ($100/year) is required only if your child wants to compete in official USA Judo tournaments. It is not required just to take classes and earn belt rankings within our program.
Can Judo be combined with after-school care?
Absolutely! In fact, this is our most popular option. Your child can be picked up from school on the shuttle, get homework help at the center, and then attend judo class — all in one place. Contact us to set up a combined schedule.
How long does it take to earn a belt?
Belt progression depends on the individual child's practice, attendance, and skill development. With consistent attendance (3–4 times per week), most children progress through early belt levels within several months. Belt testing is conducted regularly by certified instructors.
